My work references the raggedness of time passed as well as the present world in which we live with a visual rawness. I approach my paintings as visual memoirs. I invite the viewer to interpret their own recollection of place and time. I have recently incorporated my life long love of weaving back into my work. Cutting into the paintings and often using cut strips of old paintings, gold leaf and plasters I bring together disparate stories of colliding realities, a symbol of our fraying times. You will see lots of texture, layers and pattern!
My work is often influenced by my several Moroccan trips including my recent artist residency at Green Olive Arts in Tetouan, Morocco. I have been in 6 juried shows this year in the Boston/New England area, I am a lending artist at DeCordova Museum, and my work has made it into the homes and businesses of several collectors.
