Roberta Nigro Hall
Hall’s work incorporates elements of the representational and recognized image combined with metal panels. Using a different approach, Hall juxtaposes digital portraits of architects and artists with stylized re-imaginings of their work, reminding the viewer of the power of art and its’ vulnerability to time and change. Incorporating digitally modified photography with a combination of inks drawn and brushed on a metal panel, Hall creates a rich surface that suggests an atmospheric sense of space and the astrophysical world that is beyond us. The smooth gloss surface quality of the work evokes a postmodern industrialized world, drawing the viewer in to re-examine imagery that exists in another time. Hall creates multiple layers of marks, translucent and fleeting and yet solidly present.
