Caleb is a printmaker, metalsmith and draughtsman. He graduated with a BFA in Jewelry and metalsmithing from the Rhode Island School of Design after studying oil painting at the Art Students League of New York and printmaking at Il Bisonte, in Florence, Italy.
Caleb seeks to create objects and images that draw on observation of the knowable natural world, but are imbued with an element of the imagined. The pieces come from a fear of losing a sense of wonder through aging and manifest as grotesque attempts to cling to the whimsy of childhood. He also enjoys plants, sticks, rocks, various forms of detritus and small living things which tend to factor into many of his designs
Caleb’s work has been shown at Gallery Marzee, Nijmegen, NL, The Adornment Gallery in Brandon, VT, Estikunstiakadeemia Gallery, EST, among others. He is currently employed at The Cambridge School of Weston as a visual arts instructor and teaches printmaking at The Putney School during the summers.
