Over the past several years monoprinting has opened a world of experimentation and visual richness to me. I love all the ways I can make marks and the varieties of surprise and improvisation that emerge. I use low-environmental-impact soy-based Akua inks and have been adding some old favorites, charcoal and collage elements, to the mix. As always, my process is intuitive, layered, and contemplative, each mark leading to the next. My purpose is to draw the viewer in. When one connects with images that are born in mystery and hope, something might just shift. Change and renewal might just be possible.
